Small Table Mahj / Scoring

American mahjong scoring

Each hand on the card has a value, such as 25. When you win on a discard, the player who threw it pays you double and the others pay the value. When you draw the winning tile yourself, everyone pays double. Print the sheet below to keep score.

Questions

How do you score American mahjong?

Find the value printed beside the winning hand on the card. The discarder pays double and the others pay the value; if the winner drew the tile, everyone pays double.

Do the losers pay each other?

No. Only the winner collects.

What does a jokerless hand pay?

Many tables double it. Singles and Pairs hands don't get the bonus, since they can't hold jokers.

Is there a mahjong score sheet to print?

Yes. The sheet on this page prints on one page; press Print the card.
